I’ve been to London Ontario a few times for weddings now. I love the vibe of the town, but it’s a little ways away from the Greater Toronto Area. I don’t make it out there as often as I’d like. Fernwood Hills is a picturesque spot just outside of London, with a house for the bride to get ready in and lots of room for all their guests at the ceremony. The processional took the bridal party over a little bridge for quite the entrance. The ceremony spot is one of a kind, and the woodsy feel carried over to the portraits we captured afterward. I wanted to take advantage of both the intimate feel of the forest at Fernwood Hills and also the more impressive landscape views too.
After Fernwood Hills, their reception was also in London at Bellamere Estate Winery. The room had a rustic barn feel, with lots of old exposed wood. We snuck out during the reception for some sunset photos in the field behind Bellamere. These are always my favourite photos of the day; the light is soft and directional, and the couple is more relaxed. The most stressful parts of the day are behind them! You can feel the intimacy and comfort in these portraits.
Well, maybe there was still a little stress left… For their first dance as a couple they had something a little special planned. Crystal is a trained dancer, Colin is not. He was a little worried about how he’d do, but he put a lot of effort in and kept up so well. He really held his own and all the guests loved it!
